and bunged up the air screw head! Dammit... But I've been able to jimmy it out a little, and the bike's running considerably hotter (heavy-duty pipe blueing, and some moderate backfire-- but it's running great nonetheless).

Got a new screw on order, should be here later this week (hope it's steel, like yours!) Once that's in, I'll have another go at getting the carb lid off to remove the spacer; then maybe finish it off with a dyno run.

Had a GREAT ride on Saturday; took a lady friend and went to the mountains, to my favorite run from when I used to ride years ago. The Savage does amazingly well on the switchbacks, even with a passenger-- I sparked the footpegs a couple times!

I'm *really* starting to like this bike...
